The Bubble Show – 4 stars – engaging and fun for all ages
Mini Travellers
It’s the first official day of the 76th Fringe Festival in Edinburgh. Over the next few weeks, artists from 72 countries will perform in over 3500 shows – wow! Merle and I have just seen our first show and it’s safe to say we are very excited about what’s to come. First up at the Edinburgh Fringe for us is The Bubble Show.
The super-talented Mr Bubbles has taken up residence in the Piccolo Circus Tent at George Square Gardens and it is the perfect venue for him. Arriving into the tiered tent you can feel the excitement building in the audience, which has an age range starting at just a few months right up to Granny and Grandad age. And we are all here to see some bubbles!
The show is spot-on for all ages, a perfect mix of audience participation and theatre, as we travel together to Bubble Land. There we find out about smoking bubbles, solid bubbles, baby bubbles, colourful bubbles and really, really GIANT bubbles, bubbles that go up, bubbles that sink down, square bubbles and bubble animals.
The show includes some awe-inspiring bubble art, some magic, a few good science lessons, some comedy and a bit of philosophy thrown in, “all bubbles pop, like all things in life, they come and they go”. What an engaging mix.
Eran (Aka Mr Bubbles) is a perfect host, unflappable and charming in the midst of his helpers, the countless bubbles and quite a noisy audience.
If you are going to the bubble show please be aware they will refuse you entry if you are 5 minutes late! I was left with two very upset children when arriving 6 minutes late. No consideration to it being a children’s show. 12 people were refused entry the day I attended. Yet there were a number of people leaving the venue to take their children to the toilet.
Oh I really am sorry to hear that
