Beetle | Children’s Shows | Edinburgh Festival Fringe (edfringe.com)
Beetle at Edinburgh Fringe is an enchanting piece of theatre, Merle my 5 year old was speechless after the show, she was really captivated by the whole experience. – 4 Stars

We are back at the House of Oz and as ever, a warm welcome awaits. The front of house team proudly tell me they won Best Venue 2022, which was well deserved. The space is really great, just enough off the beaten track to grab a moment of chill, but only a couple of minutes walk from The Meadows and Summerhall so still in the heart of festival-land.
This year you can’t miss the House of Oz as you head out South Clerk Street, the building is adorned with a GIANT skywalker gibbon designed by Australian artist Lisa Roet, which looks awesome. House of Oz is home to a brilliant array of Australian talent including the UK debut of Beetle.
Beetle is a wonderful mix of theatre, circus, animation and storytelling, which explores the view that everyone has a place in the world and even the smallest voice matters.
The story is based around a huge eucalyptus tree where Simon the rare Christmas Beetle and his human friend Sally travel through time to see what life was like when the tree was young and how life and landscapes have changed. It’s a poignant introduction for young people to the problems facing the world. Merle my 5 year old was speechless after the show, she was really captivated by the whole experience.
