5 stars – an absolutely charming theatre experience for all the family

Mini Travellers

Weasels, toads, badgers,  pregnant pheasants, cute baby bunnies, window-washing stoats and busy otters, it’s an action-packed story and one which is expertly told by the cast of Money-Go-Round.

Experience the wonderful world of Donald Toad, Lavender Mole, Carlotta Otter, Basil Badger and Walter the Water Rat in a wonderful tale about community and how we are all linked together, with and without money.  A musical adaptation of the delightful story by renowned poet Roger McGough, this charming and thoughtful production draws you in and takes you to a very happy place.

With fantastic songs, often accompanied by the cast playing mandolin, fiddle and accordion, audience participation and a fast-moving script, it’s a perfect theatre experience for children.  Merle, aged 5,  was completely enthralled and sat quietly taking it all in. What’s more, the set and costumes are joyful and really beautifully designed adding to the experience.

The story begins at The Treehouse Hotel where the very naughty (and quite fabulous) Donald Toad is checking in, but will he manage to keep himself out of trouble for his stay?  Seems unlikely… pop along to The Assembly Rooms this August to find out what happens.
