The National Trust have a list of 50 Things to do before you are 11 and 3/4.

Now our Mini Travellers still have quite a few years to go before they reach that milestone, but we started the list in 2014 and I have just updated it in February 2019. My plan is to update this blog page with pictures of when we have/do achieve them. Let’s see how quickly that happens!!

The Fifty Things link is here and below are the ones we have managed so far. So why not get started yourself – loads of them can be done for free!

No1 Climb a Tree – 50 things to do before you are 11 and 3/4

We have all had a go at this over the years!

50 things to do before you are 11 and 3/4

No2 Roll down a really big hill – 50 things to do before you are 11 and 3/4

Sadly I don’t actually have the photographic evidence but there was a lot of rolling down this hill when we spent the weekend at Timber Festival in 2018.

No3 Camp out in the Wild – 50 things to do before you are 11 and 3/4

We’ve done a lot of camping but I don’t think it is true to say that we have done any wild camping. Not like We’re going on a Adventure Blog who really did do some wild camping with her three!

No11 Go on a really long bike ride -50 things to do before you are 11 and 3/4

Now I guess it depends on what you regard as long but for mine at the moment 8 miles is about the maximum but I think this is pretty good for little ones! We get the 5 bikes around with a combination of carriers from Thule.

We don’t seem to have managed this ourselves so still on the list, but we do have some great tips from another writer about Fossil Hunting on Charmouth Beach.

Charmouth Heritage Coast Centre sits on the beach at Charmouth and has ample (and reasonably priced) parking close by (and a café below it!). The centre offers a small exhibition as well as advice and resources to support fossil hunting. It also offers the opportunity to sign up to a fossil hunting session run by resident Palaeontologist Phil.

I was definitely only brave enough to do the rock climbing because my SIL and BIL are so good, don’t think I’d have trusted anyone else with them.

My girls like working their way through the list of 50 Things too! We’ve not done anywhere near as many as you though. What fantastic experiences you’re giving your girls with all of these travels.
