Palma Aquarium

One of the most popular things to do in Majorca among families is visiting the Palma Aquarium. Located in the island’s capital, this marine park is home to over 700 species of marine life. From the mysterious depths of the deep sea to the vibrant coral reefs, the aquarium offers a captivating journey through the world’s oceans.

The ‘Big Blue’ tank, which is the deepest shark tank in Europe, is a particular highlight. Both children and adults will be breathtaken by the majestic sharks, colourful fish, and graceful rays. With interactive exhibits and play areas available, Palma Aquarium offers the perfect blend of education and entertainment.

The Caves of Drach

The Caves of Drach are yet another highly popular tourist attraction in Majorca. Situated near Porto Cristo, these are four great caves stretching approximately 4 kilometres in the undergrounds of the island. The Drach caves are a natural wonder, with stalactites and stalagmites forming intricate patterns.

The highlight of visiting the caves, however, is the boat ride on Lake Martel – one of the world’s largest underground lakes, where you can not only enjoy the amazing views, but also a classical musical concert in the unique underground setting. This makes for a truly magical experience for kids and parents alike.

The Sóller train

Travel back in time with a ride on the vintage Sóller Train! This wooden train has been running along the scenic route between Palma and the town of Sóller since 1912. The journey takes you through picturesque landscapes, olive groves, and the Tramuntana mountains.

Once you reach the town of Sóller, take your time to walk around its cobbled streets and admire the historical architecture. You may also hop on an equally charming tram to the Port of Sóller, where you can enjoy an afternoon at the beach!

The Waterparks

Waterparks in Majorca are a fantastic way to beat the heat and have a day of family fun. Western Water Park, situated in Magaluf, offers Wild West theme slides and activities. For those staying in the northern part of the island, Hidropark in Alcúdia provides a variety of slides, pools, and even mini-golf games.

Additionally, there are smaller water parks and splash zones scattered across the island, catering to both locals and tourists. Most water parks have sun loungers, eateries, and other amenities, making it extra convenient for families with children.

Final thoughts

Majorca is a treasure trove of experiences waiting to be discovered by families with kids! From exploring the island’s underground wonders to splashing around in water parks, Majorca ensures that there’s never a dull moment for the little ones. So, pack your bags and get ready for an unforgettable adventure with your kids!
