We are getting closer to Christmas , so we thought we would collate a list of the Christmas Pantomimes near you in our Christmas Panto Guide 2018.

For us a Christmas panto is just as much a part of Christmas as the Turkey and the mince pies. It’s good old fashioned family fun and a great gift for those relatives that you’re not sure what to buy too. Boo, hiss, cheer and have some fabulous festive fun!

Aladdin at New Wimbledon Theatre

Paul Merton leads the cast in this year’s high-flying pantomime as Widow Twankey, joined by Lee Ryan as Aladdin and Magician Pete Firman who will be on hand to spread a little magic over SW19 and help Aladdin overcome the evil Abanazar.

Packed with all the traditional pantomime ingredients audiences expect, Aladdin features laugh-out-loud comedy, stunning scenery, beautiful costumes and plenty of boos and hisses.

Aladdin will once again be written and directed by Susie McKenna with original music by Steven Edis, bringing a glittering show packed with magical fun, song, dance, slapstick comedy and audience participation for all the family. Susie McKenna and Steven Edis will mark two decades at the helm of the now legendary Hackney Empire panto which has grown to become an annual highlight and a champion for culture and community in the East End.

In the Far East End, on the island kingdom of Ha Ka Ney, young Aladdin dreams of finding love and making his fortune. When he discovers an enchanted lamp and meets a mysterious genie, it looks like all his wishes are about to come true – with the help of tap-dancing pandas and his larger-than-life mum, can he win the hand of his Princess or will an evil magician, some madcapped policemen and a very large pile of laundry stand in his way?

The Wizard of Oz at Birmingham Repertory Theatre

When farm girl Dorothy Gale runs away from the evil Mrs Gultch, she finds herself lost in a strange and wonderful new world. With her faithful dog Toto at her side, she sets off on an adventure to find her way back home.

Along the way she meets some peculiar but loveable characters and they follow the yellow brick road to the Emerald City in search of answers from the mysterious and all-powerful Wizard of Oz.

This Christmas will see J.M. Barrie’s magical story of Peter Pan brought to life in gigantic proportions on some of the biggest stages in the country. Starring Martin Kemp and Milton Jones.

Reprising his role as the ultimate baddie Captain Hook is acclaimed actor and Spandau Ballet star Martin Kemp, who instilled fear across London and Birmingham audiences during his previous turn as the villainous pirate with a slight aversion of ticking crocs. Playing Hook’s simple-minded right-hand man Mr Smee, is the pun-tastic hilarious comedian and star of BBC Two’s Mock The Week, Milton Jones, who will be swashbuckling his way across the seven seas for the very first time. Matt Knight, who is once again playing the role of Peter Pan was in the band Iron Sun, who were semi-finalists in the BBC entertainment series Let It Shine.
