What is Swan Lake About?
The story begins with Prince Siegfried celebrating his birthday. His mother presents him with a crossbow and reminds him of his royal duty: to choose a bride. A grand ball is planned for the next evening, where a group of elegant young women will be introduced as potential queens.
That night, Siegfried ventures to the forest and encounters a magnificent white swan that transforms into a beautiful young woman named Odette. She is the Queen of the Swans, cursed by the wicked sorcerer Rothbart to live as a swan by day and only regain her human form at night.
Odette reveals that the curse can only be broken by the pure love of a young man. Captivated by her beauty, Prince Siegfried instantly falls in love and vows to free her. But as dawn approaches, Odette must return to her swan form. The lovers bid farewell, clinging to the hope that the spell will be broken. However, Rothbart has a sinister plan to ensure the Prince breaks his vow.
