With less than 5 weeks until Christmas, we’re starting to get in the festive mood and we’re getting excited about Christmas fun with the children. We can’t wait to take our three to an immersive theatrical experience at the Contact Theatre in Manchester – The Siege of Christmas.
A festive thief has stolen the spirit of Christmas. On arrival, the audience is given a set of headphones from which instructions and clues are delivered and we join the hosts in trying to save Christmas. We’ll be practising our team work skills whilst having lost of festive fun – the show promises militant mince pieces, rapping paper and many more seasonal surprises.
The Siege of Christmas has been devised by the award-winning Contact Young Company and Leeds-based theatre company Slung Low, who recently produced the epic Flood as part of Hull UK City of Culture 2017. Contact works with the young people of Greater Manchester and with local, national and international artists to create new models of arts engagement – fostering new talent, building skills and ambition – and creating important new productions that tour nationally. for many of the performers in The Siege, this will be their first acting engagement, so it’s fantastic to be able to support the nurturing of young talent in our community.
The Siege of Christmas takes place from Wednesday 13 – Wednesday 20 December 2017 at 11am, 2pm and 6pm (no shows on Sunday 17th).
