Schleich Wildlife Animal Rescue Review

Schleich Wildlife Animal Rescue Review

It looks like we might not be able to get to Africa this year as we had planned, so when Schleich® asked if we would like to review some of their Animal rescue range which includes lions, hippos and meerkats we jumped at the chance.

The sets arrived through the door as we began self distancing in the UK, so the sets were even more welcomed. Something that combined our love of Africa, could be done in the garden or the house, and took around an hour to build with many more hours of play to follow; it was the perfect gift.

My girls know of Schleich® mainly because they and their friends have lots of the Scheich horse range and they have played with these a lot over the last few years. The premise of the Animal Rescue range is that Ranger Tom and his friend Ted the meerkat are on a joint mission to save wildlife.

From the outside of the boxes I wasn’t sure whether the products would need building or be complete but the girls knew immediately they needed to be built.

Mine are aged 8 and 9 and the instructions were perfectly pitched at their level. It wasn’t too easy for them to put together but not too hard either. There was a lot of parts to put together, especially in the rescue truck so but it’s the attention to detail that Schleich pride themselves with and include in all of their products.

It took the three of them about an hour to put both sets together.

The Animal Rescue Helicopter comes complete with a lion, a hippopotamus, Ranger Tom, the helicopter, a helmet, a cable winch, a net and shovel.

This one was fairly easy to put together and can be played with alone but also sits on top of the animal rescue large truck too.

The animal rescue truck comes complete with lion, meerkat Ted, ranger Tom, crane with cable winch, cage, truck, ladder, container, stethoscope, bandage.

This took around an hour to build and was quite fiddly. Some of the bits required a bit of adult strength to click the bits into place.

This I know will also end up being a horse truck to carry lots of the Schleich horses we have too.

Suitable from age three (but older if you want them to be able to build it themselves, the Schleich wildlife figures are heavy and solid, and will last for years of imaginative play.

The Schleich Wildlife figures and playsets can be purchased from good toy shops including at Amazon from the links below.

You can see the entire Wildlife range on the Schleich website. Follow them on Facebook and Twitter for updates.
