First Thoughts on a Tula Free to Grow Baby Carrier

What is it?

Tula Free to Grow is an ergonomic buckle type of baby carrier that can be used from 7-45lbs without adding an infant insert like most carriers.

It works by having three width and two height settings to allow for your growing baby.

My First Thoughts:

I have used a wide variety of baby carrier’s since becoming a mum 2 years ago; buckles, ring slings, mei tai’s and stretchy wraps – I’ve tried them all!

I was sent the Tula a few weeks before my now 9 week old baby was born. It’s made of really soft, slightly brushed fabric, the type you want to rub against your cheek when no one is looking. I was so excited for baby to come to try it out, in fact we first tried it with our just turned 2 year old and it was a great fit and really comfy for my husband (I couldn’t wear it with my bump).

So baby arrived and I first tried it when he was two weeks old. We went out to choose our real Christmas tree. I was a little cautious due to having had a c-section but the waistband was nowhere near my scar and was really comfortable. I also managed to breastfeed in it on my first attempt, I just loosened and lowered him and he could feed.

This has become my go to carrier and I haven’t used one of my other 4 carriers since! It’s so quick to put on which is essential when you have a wriggly baby. It is really easy to adjust and get a good position for both mum/dad and baby. My mum even tried it and didn’t want to take it off – she has 10 grandchildren under 7 years old and has never carried any of them before!
