According to a recent study of 2,000 British adults, almost two-thirds of them admit they have specific regrets over the holidays they have taken. Apparently, a lack of confidence and holiday know-how puts them off seeking new experiences and leads them to have very forgettable holidays. Does this sound like you or someone you know?

From my experience running this blog over the last four years and chatting to new parents since Lily was born in 2010, having a baby can make even the most adventurous couples worry about taking a different sort of holiday with their young children.

Over half of Brits say worries such as language barriers and not understanding the local currency and customs encourage them to play it safe by visiting places they’ve been to before. I can certainly appreciate this concern. With all the worries that a new baby or young children can bring with them, it can be difficult to contemplate a holiday too. Emails I’ve received from worried parents before their first trip abroad have asked questions like: Where will they sleep? Will they get too hot? What about driving to find the villa? What about the coach transfer? How will I know where will be safe to eat? How will I ask for the food or bottle to be warmed if I don’t speak the right language?

However, if you find a holiday where people take care of those issues for you and provide help and support for both you and the children, then it might start to allay all your worries and your concerns. If you can find a holiday which suits you and suits the kids, then you’re likely to have an exciting and memorable trip!

This is where I’d like to introduce you to Royal Caribbean and Symphony of the Seas – this really is how to holiday!

There will even be a complimentary Adventure Ocean® club where kids (from 36 months) will be well looked after while enjoying the time of their lives. Facilities onboard Symphony of the Seas will be so fabulous that children can get creative, learn new skills and make new friends. They even have their own science lab and theatre onboard Symphony of the Seas, where they can watch films and puppet shows or put on their own entertainment. Tiny tots (aged 6-36 months) will love the colourful Royal Babies and Tots Nursery, full of fun and activities and interactive games that help them learn while they play along with family members. Fees apply.

If you haven’t considered a cruise holiday before then for two days only, there is a preview event in central London will showcase the brand new Symphony of the Seas and some of its extraordinary features! Advance tickets (sold out in record time), but the good news is that walk-in spaces are available on Saturday 3rd February! You can find out more information about the event here!

Funnily enough I’ve been thinking about a cruise, and how it might be the solution for a multi-generational holiday. I used to be a lot braver about my holiday choices pre kids (when let’s face it, there was only me to worry about!)…food for thought… thanks.

I genuinely wouldn’t have considered Cruises to be something for children until I read this – I assumed it would be much better for adults only – clearly I was mistaken! 🙂

I do believe it can take time for some families to adjust to holidays once kids come along. This looks like a fantastic solution to those a little unsure! #MondayEscapes

I’ve been on a cruise (in the Caribbean) once, and it was not my cup of tea, but it is an entirely different story travelling with kids 🙂 #mondayescapes

What a ship!! 23 pools onboard thats incredible and I love the sound of the 10 storey high water slide although I’m not sure I would actually have the guts to try it (maybe after a cocktail or two!)

I am more and more being tempted by the idea of a cruise. Seems like the best of both worlds of having inbuilt entertainment and things to do with the kids, but also lots of stops and interesting things for the adults to see on land. #MondayEscapes

I’ve never been on a cruise before but it does seem like a good way to travel if you have kids. So much entertainment on board the ship, as well as short stops on land would make it easier for parents I think!

I’ve never been on a cruise but with 2 out 3 boys in our family fascinated by Titanic and cruise ships, this may just be the ticket in the future!
