Sending the kids off to school on wintery days usually means getting them togged up in warm coats, but the bulky design of most Autumn/Winter coats just do not go well with backpacks or make running about on the playground very easy!

We were sent some Reima 2 in 1 Down Jackets to road test, however, the kids have worn them everyday since they arrived! Smart, colourful, comfortable and warm: they are literally perfect for every day wear and brilliantly practical.

Reima’s 2 in 1 Down Jackets are made of a super lightweight material so are thinner than many other Autumn/Winter coats (this jacket is designed to keep kids warm in temperatures of 0 to -20C).

Backpacks can be worn comfortably with them and they are practical for hanging up with lots of other jackets – a small thing I know but so good when we always have lots of jackets hung up together in the hall!).

The down/feather insulation means they are every bit as warm as bulkier coats but the fitted design also looks neat and they are easy to move about in. My kids love wearing these jackets and chose them everyday above their other choices.

The added feature of zip-off arms mean on milder days it can be used as a vest/body warmer or on really cold days the vest can be a mid layer under another coat. My kids love the detachable padded hood which keeps their ears warm. It’s also generous enough to fit one of Reima’s gorgeous bobble hats underneath too for those really chilly days.

With a fluorocarbon-free water and dirt repellent finish BIONIC-FINISH®️ECO it’s a practical option for everyday wear but they are also washable and can be put in the tumble dryer so after an afternoon of splashing about in muddy puddles we just put this powder pink coat in the wash and it came out beautifully clean again ready for the next morning.

Priced at €109.99 (although they are in January 2020 currently on sale) they aren’t the cheapest jacket but to me they are a brilliant investment for a high-quality coat that in the UK climate will see you through most of the year.
