If you are considering a dry robe for the kids for swimming, surfing, camping, running, beach trips, I thought I’d share with you some of the amazing dry robe alternatives for kids that people have shared with me.
Traditionally dryrobes or dryrobe alternatives are for putting on over wetsuits, for open water swimming or for surfers. Loved for the towelling robe inside, the long sleeve length, the full-length two-way zip, velcro cuffs and the soft fleece lining. However I was in the market for dry robes for the girls for pre/post cross country and for swimming. Trying to reclaim my own from Lily and to have something for the girls to put on when they’ve finished a race in torrential rain. I posted the question on my Mini Travellers Facebook page and in our reviews and recommendations group, which I’d love you to join if you were interested.

A kids dryrobe® is £140 it is designed to let your kids get active outdoors, whatever the weather. dryrobe® allows them to change anywhere, whilst protecting them from the elements and keeping them warm in any climate.
The long sleeve design provides extra warmth and is ideal for when your child is waiting to compete or watching sporting events. dryrobe® is not your average fit, it will be large with plenty of room and be loose enough to pull their arms inside and get changed.
They come in sizes 5-9 and 10-13.
The upside to the dryrobe is that the re-sale value on ebay or other selling sites is superb. You might pay £140 but it seems like you’ll get around £100 selling it on second hand, such is the value and quality of them.
So these are the Best Dry Robe Alternatives for Kids that have been recommended to me.
These dry robe alternatives for kids are arranged with the pricier ones towards the top and the cheaper ones to the bottom.

Exorobe Stormbreaker Kids Changing Robe – £75
Recommended by Kara from Are we nearly there yet. This company is local to Kara in Dorset and her kids love them.
- Water resistant lightweight durable , super soft and cosy fleece lined. Wide enough to change under and easy enough to pull your arms in from the sleeve.
- The main body is also relatively slim enough that you can use this for general activities where you might want full protection from the elements.
- The ‘wrist glove’ is again inspired from snowboarding, but something I really wanted when I was spending 6 hours a day in a wet suit keeping warm between windsurfing competition heats.
- The arms allow you to pull over your hands in rainy or cold weather.
- Most importantly the robe is made from 100% recycled polyester, with a water resistant PU coating.
