Yorkshire Pumpkins, Pumpkin Picking 2026

Lodge Farm, Cundall, York, YO61 2RN

This October, head to the pumpkin-picking farm between Thirsk and Boroughbridge, where over 70 varieties- orange, white, pink, blue, knobbly, stripey, even leopard print. The perfect pumpkin for everyone, from palm-sized to wheelbarrow-fillers. Now in its third generation, the farm is run by Rob and David, on hand in the fields to help visitors pick the right pumpkin for carving, decorating or eating.

Beyond the picking, there’s pumpkin bowling, noughts and crosses, toy tractors, and a bale mountain to climb for the best view over the patch, plus a pumpkin wash for a scrub-down before heading home. Photo spots include the farm’s famous pumpkin door, a vintage tractor and a bale sofa. Stable Pizza Co returns with their wood-fired pizzas, and the pumpkin café serves teas, coffees, hot chocolates, homemade cakes, bat buns and pumpkin soup.

The Balloon Tree Farm Shop and Cafe, York – Local Pumpkin Patch

The pumpkin patch will reopen at the end of September, with thousands of pumpkins in every shape, size and colour ready for picking. Perfect for carving, decorating, or simply a great autumn family day out.

Farmer Copleys, Pontefract | Picking Pumpkins in Yorkshire

This autumn, Farmer Copleys’ Pumpkin Festival returns bigger and better than ever, with over 300,000 homegrown pumpkins spread across the fields in more than 40 unique varieties, a striking patchwork of orange, white, green and even striped pumpkins that makes for one of Yorkshire’s ultimate pumpkin patches, and a picture-perfect backdrop for autumn family days out.

There’s plenty to enjoy beyond the picking too, with tractor rides through the fields, live shows and entertainment, archery, vintage fairground rides, Witches’ Storytime, and appearances from Velcro the Scarecrow and other family characters. Daily fancy dress competitions and a dog parade add to the fun, while street food and festival bars keep everyone fed and watered throughout the day.

Children aged 3 and under go free and don’t need a ticket, and each ticket slot marks your arrival time only, once in, you’re welcome to stay as long as you like until closing.

Horsforth Pick Your Own – Pumpkin Patch

Horsforth PYO’s pumpkin patch is back this Halloween, with over 85,000 pumpkins planted across a wide range of varieties. Whether you’re after mini, small or jumbo, and whatever the colour, from classic orange to white, pink, blue and yellow, there’s plenty of choice. The fun starts with a tractor and trailer ride included in the ticket price, taking visitors down to the picking fields to grab a wheelbarrow and begin the hunt for the perfect pumpkin.

There are Halloween photo opportunities dotted around the farm too, and talented face painters on hand (for an additional cost) to transform visitors into their Halloween favourites. A pop-up café will also be serving refreshments throughout.

The Spilmans Pumpkin Festival opens on 26th September, and this year’s event ticket comes packed with extras. Alongside the brand-new “Wizfords Academy: The Great Fortune Flop” show and a Halloween fancy dress disco with Skelebones, every visitor receives a £5 credit voucher on arrival to spend on pumpkins, plus 50p off any Spilmans activity, such as Bale Mountain, the giant slide, and the pumpkin carving room. Stockeld Park, Pumpkin Patch For 2026

Getting to the patch is part of the fun, with a tractor-trailer running roughly every 15 minutes from its stop near the Enchanted Forest, or a signposted 5–7 minute walk for those who fancy it on foot. Once there, there’s plenty to enjoy beyond the picking itself. Including photo opportunities with the pumpkin wagon, speedboat and Tardis, a visit from the resident live-action Scarecrow keeping watch over the patch, and a refreshments cabin serving hot and cold drinks.

New for 2026 is Pumpkin Nights, a seasonal evening event running on 17 and 24 October, 5.30–9pm. Guests arrive by tractor-trailer to roaming entertainment and live music, with food and drink served beneath the Dutch Barn, and games including Crockery Smash, Pumpkin Sling Shot and Wand Making (one round of each included, extra rounds £2). Tickets are £15pp, with half-price entry for day ticket holders.

Humble Bee Farm’s Pumpkin Festival is back and bigger than ever, with pumpkins provided on-site so visitors can pick, then carve, right there at the farm, no messy guts to deal with at home. This year’s patch is the largest yet, and beyond the picking there’s the farmyard gang to meet in the barn, including alpacas, micro pigs and Tilly the Shetland pony, plus a whimsical witch rumoured to be stirring up a few magical surprises.

From the creators of Piglets Adventure Farm comes Farmer Ed’s Pumpkin Patch. Pumpkins have always been part of the Piglets story, but this autumn they finally get their own event, and it’s the biggest and best pumpkin experience yet.

Suited equally to families, cosy dates and teens, there’s plenty to explore: photo opportunities across three separate patches, toasted marshmallows, coffee, snacks and street food in the Pumpkin Village, and 100,000 home-grown pumpkins, squashes and gourds ready for picking. Add in pay-as-you-go Pitch & Putt Pumpkin Crazy Golf, a carving tent, a pumpkin supermarket and retail shop, and dogs welcome throughout the patch, and it’s shaping up to be a proper autumn day out.
