Where to go Pumpkin Picking in the North West

Halloween wouldn’t be Halloween without pumpkins. If you fancy getting one for your home there are a number of pick your own places across the North West. Why not get the children involved in choosing their own straight from the field? Many places are also hosting other events alongside the picking so you can make it a fun day out for the family.

There are lots of Halloween events going on at Grange Farm this year including Film Nights, Art and Craft Days, Fancy Dress Halloween Party and a Pumpkin Hunt for little ones.

Red House Farm hosts its annual Pumpkin Picking Festival in . Unfortunately from Monday 4th November 2019 Red Hall Farm will close to the public and become a working farm. However, the owners hope to continue to hold the annual Pumpkin Picking Festival and other one-off events.

Grab your wellies and head down to the farm to pick your own pumpkins! Free entry – just pay for what you pick. There is also a range of other activities on offer such as Spooky Maize Maze, Tractor Rides, Miniature Railway, Coffee Shop and an Unlucky Dip.

Church Farm Family Fright Festival is a spooky themed farm experience with pumpkin picking, puppet shows and more. It’s designed to be spooky without being too* frightening making it ideal for families with young children. * The beastly barrel train does feature live “monsters” so may not be suitable for very young or nervous children. You can choose to miss this out if you wish.  

Open Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th October, ​Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th October​, Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th October then every day from Saturday 26th October – Sunday 3rd November (Wirral half-term)

Please note: Pick Your Own pumpkin is only available as part of the Family Fright Festival activities, which require an admission ticket. The cost of a pumpkin is not included in the admission price. If you’d like to pick a pumpkin as part of the tractor ride then take some extra money with you. Pumpkins cost £2 – £5 depending on size.

Open 10am-4pm daily on: Saturday 12th & Sunday 13th October, Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th October, Saturday 26th, Sunday 27th, Monday 28th, Tuesday 29th, Wednesday 30th & Thursday 31st October.

Pumpkins cost £3.50 each. There is no booking required. Remember to wear wellingtons and bring a bag for your pumpkin! there is also a host of other activities such as maize maze, bouncy castle, lucky dip, children’s crafts and mini diggers (each an additional cost).

Church View Farm is a small family run farm and shop that grows and sells fresh fruit and vegetables. They grow over 5000 pumpkins ready for pick your own.
