Fireworks Displays in North Yorkshire

Each year locations around the country celebrate the day that Guy Fawkes and his crew were thwarted in their attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament by holding fireworks events and bonfires.

Here we’ve rounded up some of the most popular bonfire and fireworks events in North Yorkshire for 2019!

North Yorkshire

Bolton Abbey, Skipton

Saturday 2nd November 2019

Bolton Abbey will hold its annual bonfire and firework display by the banks of the River Wharfe in the shadows of the Priory Ruins. Wrap up warm, and be entertained by fire eaters, glow in the dark jugglers and traditional fairground rides. The evening will end with a dazzling firework display.Time: Gates open at 4:00pm, Fire lit at 6:00pm, Fireworks at 7:00pm

Sledmere House, Driffield

Our annual Sledmere Musical Fireworks is going to be bigger and better than ever.

Join us this October to discover that there really is ‘Magic In The Air’ at Sledmere.

This year we are opening earlier to give you more time to enjoy the fun fair, grab your tea and be entertained by us. Our gates will be open at 4.00pm, with entertainment throughout the evening, culminating in our Musical Fireworks Spectacular at 7.30pm, brought to you by the Fireworkers.

Selby Bonfire & Firework Event

Saturday 2nd November 2019

To be held on the Community Centre field with fairground rides available.  Minster FM will be on site to entertain people as well as helping with the countdown. The bonfire will be lit at 6.30pm and the first set of fireworks will be let off at 7.00pm with a second round of fireworks at approx 7.30pm.  Great FREE event for all the family.

The TIPI Venue, Scarborough

Tuesday 5th November 2019

After freezing outside watching the fireworks, come and join us for a warm drink and toast some marshmallows over our fire pits. Serving hot chocolate, mulled cider & wine and much more. Free entry, and no need to book, just turn up, relax and warm up. Open 4 pm till late.

The Stray, Harrogate

Harrogate Round Table’s main community project is organising and running the Stray Bonfire, which they have now done for almost fifty years! 

Full details for the 2019 Harrogate Stray Bonfire haven’t yet been released yet.

  • Venue: Bonfire held on the Stray alongside Oatlands Drive, close to St. Aidans School. 
  • Time: Unconfirmed. Previously Stray FM Build Up from 6pm, Bonfire Lit 6:30pm, Fireworks 7.15pm

Tockwith Show Bonfire and Firework Display

5th November 2019

  • Venue: Cattal Moor Lane, Tockwith, YO26 7QH
  • Time: Gate opens at 5.30pm. Bonfire lit at 6.30pm. Fireworks from 6.45pm.
  • Tickets: Adults & Children (13 & over) £5.00 Children 12 & under FREE ALL CHILDREN UNDER 16 MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY AN ADULT.

Lightwater Valley, Ripon

Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd November

Lightwater Valley will be staging a spectacular fireworks finale on Saturday, 2nd and Sunday 3rd November.

Taking place from 5pm visitors will be able enjoy a 10-minute fireworks finale set above the theme park’s picturesque Swan Lake.

The display, which will be choreographed to music, is included in the admission price and will provide the perfect ending to a day out at the North Yorkshire attraction.
