5 Places to see Father Christmas in Gloucestershire this Christmas

Gloucestershire is a fabulous place to celebrate Christmas. Festive family events take place across the county. To help you choose the most the most memorable and magical experiences to take your kids to we’ve asked local blogger, Lisa from Travel Loving Family, to share the best places to see Father Christmas in Gloucestershire…

Christmas on the Farm, Cotswolds Farm Park, Guiting Power, Gloucestershire

Weekends from the last weekend in Nov to Christmas Eve.
Cotswold Farm Park is owned by Adam Henson from BBC Countryfile, perhaps the most well-known farmer in the UK. Meeting Santa at the farm park is a fun and relaxing experience with lots of time spent chatting with Santa.

My boys loved the elves who led the way along the path to a wooden door which they were asked to open with a big key. They also enjoyed choosing their own gift from a big selection in Santa’s toy room. The gifts were a really nice quality and age appropriate. My youngest picked a wooden bird box to make and paint and my eldest a gardening kit. We all enjoyed a full festive day out at Cotwolds Farm Park and still love about the live nativity play a year on. (There is a reason they say not to work with animals and kids, the nativity was hilarious!)

You can read our review here – Visiting Santa at Cotswold Farm Park

Tickets must be booked online in advance.

Ticket Cost

Child 4-15 & adult 15+ – £20 non member/£7.50 member includes farm

Tips for visiting Cotswold Farm Park

You need to book to see Santa asap as it’s a very popular event. Also make sure you wear lots of layers and wear wellies. The farm park is mainly outdoors and it can get very cold up there, even on a bright
day.

Christmas Fantasy Spectacular at Clearwell Caves, Forest of Dean

Daily from the 30th November – 24th December
For a completely unique experience head under earth to Clearwell Caves in the Forest of Dean. The caves were originally mined for iron ore and now operate primarily as a mining museum.

We really enjoyed following the seasonal story trail and meeting the jolly Santa underground in the caves. Again my boys enjoyed selecting their own gift from a stall located next to Santa’s grotto. Make sure you give yourself enough time to browse through the underground Christmas stalls and enjoy a hot drink with homemade cake.
