Review by Emily Gettins
When I agreed to review this Victoria Green Beauty Bag, I wasn’t really sure what to expect. Previously, I’ve had bags that were perfect to fit my stuff in, but that didn’t have enough room for the rest of the family. Or that were big enough but didn’t keep things separate. Or that were made of fabric which was not really suitable for a family (ie that didn’t wipe clean!). I must admit that on most trips away, we resorted to a make up bag for me, a small wipe clean bag for toothbrushes etc and then plastic bags for shampoos and shower gels. Practical, but certainly not the most stylish or organised!
This bag will change that and I can’t tell you how happy that has made me (that may be partly due to the crazy pregnancy nesting and need for organisation, but hey!)
The three-fold bag is well-made and quite flat for storage when empty. It’s in a lovely, pretty print but practical in that it is wipe clean on the outside. There is a large, removable PVC pocket for shampoos, making it easy to remove that section to take down for showering at the pool. The sections inside are all clear, so you can see immediately what is in which pocket. It has a hook to hang in the bathroom, but rather than a flimsy fabric thing that has a tendancy to drop off, this is a proper metal hook. It looks and feels like a good quality bag, that will last.
We used the bag for a weekend away last week (myself, hubby and our two boys) and it was great to have everything in one place. On my return home, I immediately filled it with the toiletries etc I needed for my labour bag for hospital.
The bag is £15, which I think is very reasonable for something so well-designed and well-made. My sister also travels a lot, and I will be buying one for her for her birthday (Charlie, when you read this, forget I said that!). The full range are available now from Debenhams.
