If you’re planning a trip to Madrid and want to stay somewhere central, and funky, The Social Hub Madrid might be the perfect spot. Just a short walk from Plaza de España, Gran Vía, and Príncipe Pío, this super cool hotel is set in the most wonderful building and packed with amenities like a rooftop pool and bar, making it the perfect choice for a city break. We had such a fabulous stay in the heart of the city. Here’s our full review based on our recent visit.
The Social Hub Madrid, a Hotel With A Rooftop Bar in Madrid
We chose The Social Hub Madrid because of its brilliant location. It is just a short stroll from the Plaza de España, Gran Vía, and Príncipe Pío. This central setting made it easy for us to explore key sights on foot, do a secret food tour and easily walk to the Prado (a 30-minute walk from the hotel). It really is the most wonderful location. We were right in the middle of the action, yet set back from the road with fantastic amenities.

We flew into Madrid on an early flight and arranged our airport transfer with Welcome Pickups, and our driver was waiting for us at the airport. Making transfers quick and easy.
Hotel Reception and Warm Greeting
We arrived at the Social Hub very early (check in is from 3pm) and whilst we couldn’t check in until 3pm the staff happily took our bags for us. The reception area is a cafe and co-working space too. There are comfy seating areas, free water, and ice tea available should you want a drink, but also a cafe for you to purchase coffees and cakes, or more substantial food.
After we stored our luggage we set off to find some lunch and visit the local spa – more on that in our 48 hours in Madrid post (to follow).
On our return check in was quite slow (actually our only complaint) but we were soon into the rooms.
Our Room Was Funky, Quirky, Comfortable and Quiet
Our room was a welcome retreat after a busy day exploring Madrid. Funky and quirky rather than luxury. The bed was incredibly comfortable, and despite being so central, the room was quiet, ideal for a good night’s sleep. However, one of my favourite things about the hotel was the rooftop views from which you could see the palace. There was also good WiFi generally across the property, which is a plus for work / digital nomads too.

The Social Hub Madrid Has A Stylish Bathroom
The bathroom was functional and spacious, with a rainfall shower. Everything felt spotlessly clean and thoughtfully arranged, not amazing lighting but great towels, a useful hairdryer and nice products.
In-Room Tea, and Water Included
One of the nice touches we appreciated was the complimentary tea station in the room, along with bottled water. It’s always a bonus to have this without extra charges, especially after travelling.
Rooftop Bar and Pool with a View of Madrid
One of the hotel’s highlights has to be the rooftop area. The bar offers panoramic views over to the palace, and the small pool is a refreshing treat after a hot day sightseeing. It’s not a full-size pool, but it’s perfect for a dip and some downtime and has sunbeds around one side. The bar (on the floor below) serves fantastic cocktails and food, making it a great spot to unwind.
Gym
The gym is open 24/7 for hotel guests. It’s fully equipped and a great space for a full work out or just your own yoga session.
Would We Recommend The Social Hub in Madrid?
Yes, the Social Hub in Madrid offers everything you could need in a hotel. The location is perfect, and the vibe is fantastic.
I didn’t get photos of the breakfast as the dining room was busy, but the selection was huge. I don’t normally do this, as I like to try new hotels and locations, but I will be booking this hotel again.
