Slomo at Camp Bestival: What We Learned Last Year (and Why We’re Going Back in 2026)
Share

After surviving (and loving!) the whirlwind that was our Pyjama Party adventure at Camp Bestival 2025, there’s one thing we’ll be doing very differently this year… We’ll be prioritising Slomo.

Because while Camp Bestival is packed with colour, chaos and incredible family moments, what we learned is this, you need balance to truly enjoy it.

What We Learned from Last Year

We went all in last year—trapeze, skate ramps, comedy tents, silent discos, headliners… all on very little sleep.

Magical? Yes.
Sustainable? Not quite.

And while it was magical, it was also a lot.

By Sunday, the tired tears had definitely arrived (from kids… and maybe the mums too).

Our Slomo Moment

In between the festival madness, we each took a turn to escape to Slomo—and it changed everything.

  • Stretching in the sunshine
  • A sound bath so relaxing people were falling asleep
  • Sauna, cold plunge and proper showers

What We’re Doing Differently in 2026

This year, Slomo isn’t optional—it’s part of the plan.

  • Scheduling downtime (not squeezing it in)
  • Taking proper turns to recharge
  • Using it as a reset before big moments

Because doing everything is great… but enjoying everything is better.

What’s New for Slomo in 2026?

At Camp Bestival 2026, Slomo is back bigger than ever—designed as a true festival-within-a-festival, with a full three-day programme focused on family wellbeing.

This year’s Slomo programme includes sessions led by well-known wellbeing experts like Joe Wicks, Jasmine Hemsley and Zita West—alongside a wider line-up of movement, meditation and nutrition specialists.

What You Can Expect at Slomo

  • The Slomo Sanctuary – Saunas, ice baths, hot tubs and proper facilities. (Paid – but worth it for a full reset.)
  • Slo Studio – Free drop-in sound baths, meditation and breathwork. No booking needed.
  • Food Is Medicine Camp – New for 2026—hands-on workshops and simple ways to support family health through food.
  • The Dreamweavers Garden – Breathwork, movement, cacao ceremonies and energising morning sessions.
  • Yoga Shala – Yoga for all ages—from gentle flows to laughter yoga.
  • Treatment Tents – Bookable treatments like massage, reflexology and reiki.

Why Slomo is Worth It (Especially with Kids)

If you’re heading to Camp Bestival with children, Slomo isn’t just a “nice extra”—it’s a game changer.

Here’s why:

  • It helps avoid burnout – Festivals are full-on. Having a space to pause makes the whole weekend more enjoyable.
  • It gives parents a break (without leaving site) – No babysitters needed—just take turns and reset.
  • It creates a different kind of memory – Not just the big headline moments, but the calm, connected ones too.

Our Top Tip for 2026

If you take one thing from our experience, let it be this:

Don’t wait until you’re exhausted to find Slomo — plan it in from the start.

Because the best version of Camp Bestival isn’t the one where you do everything… It’s the one where everyone still has the energy to enjoy it.

Final Thoughts

Camp Bestival is everything a family festival should be—fun, chaotic, memorable and full of surprises. We’ll be back this year… just slower, calmer, and doing it properly.
