Our Cabin Attendant and Ironing Service

Our Cabin attendant was terrific; our cabin was cleaned and turned down daily, with fresh towels provided each day. Although you can’t take irons on a Royal Caribbean cruise, nor do they have a customer laundry room, you can send clothes to be washed and ironed. Get Shirts Ironed Onboard and Avoid Pre Holiday Stress

If you aren’t a fan of pre-holiday ironing like me, this is a great option to take anything that creases easily and get it ironed on the ship. The wash and press service is also great for longer sailings, enabling you to pack lighter and send to the laundry onboard.

Tips For Removing Creases On A Cruise

One of the most common packing struggles when cruising is keeping clothes crease-free. No matter how carefully you fold or roll your outfits, the reality is that by the time you unpack in your stateroom, there will usually be some level of wrinkling. Over the years, as regular cruisers with Royal Caribbean, we’ve picked up a few tried-and-tested tricks that make a huge difference and mean you can step out each evening looking fresh without worrying about creased clothes.

1. Pack a wrinkle-release spray

Wrinkle-release spray has become one of our go-to cruise essentials. I’ll admit, I was sceptical at first, but it really does work on lightly creased clothes. Simply spray onto the fabric, give it a gentle tug, and most creases will relax within minutes. It’s lightweight, easy to pack, and perfect for when you don’t want to send every item to the ship’s laundry service.

2. Pre-iron before you pack

Before each cruise, I take the time to iron most of our clothes at home — especially dresses, trousers, and t-shirts. I usually skip shirts because they tend to crease no matter what, but pre-ironing helps reduce the worst of the wrinkles and means clothes look much better once they’re unpacked.

3. Hang clothes as soon as you board

The minute we get to our cabin, I unpack and hang everything straight away. This alone helps creases naturally drop out, especially when combined with a wrinkle-release spray. On Royal Caribbean ships, the air-conditioning helps dry fabrics quickly, so you’ll often notice garments looking smoother within a few hours.

4. Use the bathroom steam trick

If you don’t have wrinkle-release spray to hand, another simple hack is to hang clothes in the bathroom while you take a hot shower. The steam helps loosen fabric fibres, making it easier to smooth out wrinkles by hand. It’s not a perfect solution, but it can work in a pinch for outfits you need the same evening.

5. Consider packing wrinkle-resistant fabrics

To avoid the hassle of creases at sea, opt for lightweight, wrinkle-resistant fabrics such as jersey, polyester blends, or linen mixes. These tend to travel much better than 100% cotton or linen, which crease heavily in a suitcase.
