If you’re wanting Waterproof Warm Boots do take a look at our review of Keen Waterpoof Boots.

Packing for our trip to Lapland this Christmas was fairly tricky. What were the kids going to wear, how many layers would they need to take, what coats, scarves and gloves would we need etc etc.  However what I knew already was the the kids would be travelling in the Keen waterpoof Boots, and I would be travelling in mine.  We’ve have had for a couple on months now and I wouldn’t be without.

We are big fans of Keen here at Mini Travellers, we loved the girls Summer sandals that we used for absolutely everything over the Summer so if you’re debating buying a pair then just do, so we knew that the waterproof boots would be good. I just didn’t know how good.

We write about shoes and sandals a lot at Mini Travellers as when you are out and about as much as we are, and for long periods of time, we put shoes and boots through their paces and really test their limits.

So the waterproof boots we took with us fr the girls were the Elsa Boot. The specification on the website reads like some sort of science experiment but the general gist is that they won’t be as waterproof as a pair of wellies but are tough and warm and stand up to snow and puddles.

Priced at £59.99 (although currently reduced in the sale to £41.99,) they aren’t cheap but then they are well made and stand up to hard play.  They also I can confirm, wash really well in the washing machine on 30!  After a particularly muddy walk in the Peak District just after Christmas they really needed a full on wash so I threw them in and out they popped as good as new.

They come in blue, plum and black so suitable for boys and girls.

The waterpoof boots I have are called Hoodoo they haven’t had to be washed as yet as I don’t jump in as many muddy puddles but they do stand up to torrential rain, snow and the beach in the winter too!  Again their specification sounds like you could wear them to the moon and back but I’ll stick to the Snow and walking in the Peaks!

We have worn them in the snow:
