A Joules Picnic for a Sunny Afternoon

On a sunny but windy afternoon last weekend we had a very English picnic (in Wales!).  We arranged to meet up with my good friend Rachel who writes the amazing The Ordinary Lovely blog and try out the new picnic range from Joules.  It’s a tough job but someone has to do it.  So I filled one of their very pretty picnic hampers with some lovely food and we set off.

We only live about half an hour from the Welsh border and it always makes me laugh when we visit, as the girls get excited about crossing into another country even though we do it regularly.  There are always discussions around which part of Wales are we going to? Will we see Wayne & Sian (friends in South Wales) does it take 4 hours to get there? Are we going to see a Castle?  Some of the Welsh stereotypes in our house.

The afternoon with friends also gave Lily an opportunity to practice her interview skills and film Episode 2 of the Lily Show in which you can see a little more of the ‘behind the scenes’.  Basically we chatted, the kids ran around a lot, we ate nice food and gossiped and we took some photos for the Joules Journal whilst we were doing it.

  1. Oh this picnic looks beautiful – I love traditional style wicker baskets the best.

You all look like you’re having a lovely day – I am typing this from my office with the heating on. Where’s the sunshine!

I’ve just been browsing the Joules website this morning for Steve and the boys – they really do the best summer staples don’t they 🙂
