It’s so easy to curl up on the couch and have a movie day during the winter weekends, but with so much to do it’s a great time to enjoy time with the family. We were lucky enough to have the opportunity to review a whole host of events happening in Blackpool during the festive period. During a visit to the panto (which I’ll come to in a moment), we also managed to fit in a game of adventure golf and some ice skating courtesy of Blackpool Pleasure Beach. Having a 4 year old girl and a 9 year old boy, planning a day out to suit them both can be challenging but we smashed it today if I do say so myself!
If attending either the golf or the ice skating, I’d highly recommend taking gloves, something I managed to forget! The adventure golf is outside so it would depend on the weather, however with 12 holes, it’s a good amount of holes to enjoy without being outside for too long. The ice skating is indoors so can be enjoyed during all weather conditions, and thankfully it had people of all abilities (meaning I didn’t look like a plonker holding onto the side as others were also!). The only thing I would say is that there isn’t any equipment to assist with younger children, handy to know for those taking younguns.

Then the main event, the Cinderella the panto! We love the panto in our family, it really is fun for all when you look at the music, dancing, jokes, innuendos!!! And Cinderella offered it all. The dancing really stood out to me, the team of dancers were phenomenal. Starring Kevin Simm as Prince Charming and Charlotte Dawson as the wicked stepmother, and two dazzling dames as the ugly sisters, the cast played the roles fabulously. There was even the inclusion of an acrobatic performance, which was beautifully executed.
After the show, we popped in to see the big man himself, Father Christmas, in his grotto. We met with the man himself, and thankfully found out the kids are still on the nice list (daddy isn’t though!). Here, we also met some elves, had some lovely photos and had some face painting.
We really did have such a fantastic day, we’d very much recommend it to any families looking for ways to get their families into the Christmas spirit!!
Seen this yesterday with my grandkids it was fabulous. The singing and dancing was amazing the costumes lighting and arial act top class we loved it
