Afternoon Tea at the Radisson Blu with Buy a Gift!

Share

So all in all the last few weeks have been a bit rough. Not rough for me, but for quite a few of those around me and I think I’ve absorbed quite a lot of anxiety.  So I had a lovely day last week and I popped on some new clothes that I had been gifted by Lands End and went for afternoon tea with Sarah at the Radisson Blu, using a voucher she’d been gifted from Buy a Gift.

It was the perfect antidote to the last few weeks. We had time to chat, time to share some new things we had both learnt over the last few weeks and some time for ourselves. I also had a willing photographer in Sarah and I now want to purchase the iPhone X just for the portrait setting on the camera.

The afternoon tea at the Radisson Blu was a lovely treat. At £28 per head for the standard afternoon tea, and £38 for the champagne afternoon tea, you can imagine which one we went for. Our voucher only covered the standard afternoon tea but the staff kindly upgraded us to the champagne one for the £10 extra. A glass of champagne itself would have been £14.

On the afternoon tea was 4 small sandwiches, beef, ham, smoked salmon and a cucumber and beetroot. We were asked if those choices were suitable for us, whether we had any allergies or intolerances before it was brought out and if any of the items need to be replaced. The staff were kind, courteous and always on hand, even offering to take a photo of the two of us when they could see us trying to take a selfie.

The scones that came with the afternoon tea weren’t the most amazing I’ve ever had but then, shock horror I’m not a huge scones fan, I did though particular enjoy the macaroons and the white chocolate cheesecake.

There was a few different tea or coffee choices to choose from to complete the meal and after that we just sat and watched the world go by, and set about putting the world to rights.

It certainly felt like a better place when we had finished. Thanks Sarah for inviting me along!
