The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod is a music festival which takes place every year during the second week of July in the beautiful town of Llangollen, North Wales.
The Llangollen International Musical Eisteddfod has announced its star-studded concert line-up for 2018, featuring performances from best-selling artist, Alfie Boe, prolific recording artist, Van Morrison, renowned baroque instrumental group, Red Priest, and award winning Welsh folk band, Calan.
The Festival will run from Tuesday 3rd July – Sunday 8th July 2018 and tickets for the main concert series are now available to Festival Pass holders and Friends of the Eisteddfod. Tickets are also now on sale to the general public online at www.llangollen.net or via the box office on 01978 862 001.
This year the Festival is inviting families nationwide to join its annual celebration of peace, friendship and goodwill.
To commemorate this, Mini Travellers is giving five lucky winners the chance to win a family day pass, which will give two adults and three children access to the field and iconic Pavillion for a whole day of choice, between Wednesday 4th and Saturday 7th July.
The festival’s opening day (3rd July), Children’s Day, which is sponsored by the NSPCC, is exclusively for schools, but from Wednesday 4th July – Saturday 7th July there is a whole host of family fun on offer.
The hills will come alive with children’s choir competitions, storytelling, crafts, circus skills, stilt walkers, NSPCC workshops and giant outdoor games, not to mention juggling and bubble fun artists, all dedicated to providjng a memorable day out for kids and grown-ups alike. All of these activities are set to take place ‘On the Field’ – the festival’s uniquely family-orientated playground.
Winners can enjoy three outdoor spaces which will host live performances from World Music and Dance to Folk and Jazz sessions, creating an atmosphere that every year generates spontaneous displays of intercultural dancing and joyful music-making amongst its 50,000 visitors.
Throughout the festival, competitions that will delight families will take place on the iconic Royal International Pavilion stage, including the Children’s Folk Song and Dance, Senior Children’s Choirs, Vocal Solos and International Young Musician competitions will take place, showcasing exceptional young talent from across the globe.
Family Day Pass tickets do not include access to Llanfest or evening concerts.
