Hands down one of the best places in South East Asia for a family holiday is Bali. A holiday in Bali caters for all sorts of families.  Families who love adventure, families who want to laze by the pool, families who love shopping, families that love luxury, families that are on a tight budget and families that want a bit of it all. So here is a Guest Post all about Where to Stay in Bali with Kids

Where to Stay in Bali with Kids

First things first, you need to work out where you want to stay in Bali.  The location you choose will mainly depend upon your budget, whether you want a luxury or budget hotel, be close to all the action or in a quieter location.

Here is a quick run down of some of the main tourist spots in Bali and why you may want to consider them for your family holiday:

Kuta – Where to Stay in Bali with Kids

Whilst Kuta may have earned itself a bad reputation over the years for being chaotic, full of tourists and party central; and whilst this may be true to some degree it is still a good location for first time visitors to Bali who want to be in the thick of it all.

In Kuta you will find some of the best family resorts with kids’ club, large shopping malls, heaps of places to eat, markets and a great surf beach.

Kuta is super close to the airport and a great central location for all the main attractions in Bali.

Legian -Where to Stay in Bali with Kids

Legian is just north of Kuta and is rather like Kuta just on a smaller and quieter scale.

There are some great family resorts here, just not as great a range of resorts with kid’s club like Kuta.

Legian is great for those wanting to be in a central location with great resorts and shopping areas but just not as chaotic as Kuta.

Seminyak -Where to Stay in Bali with Kids

North of Legian is Seminyak – home to some great family villas as well as a few good family hotels.

Seminyak is getting a bit of a reputation for having the best restaurants and bars.  It appears to have a bit more of a trendy vibe than the rest of the Bali.

Whilst I love Seminyak, it is a little isolated making it a little harder to get out and visit the main attractions.  Seminyak is a perfect place to chill out.

Sanur -Where to Stay in Bali with Kids

Sanur is a great family location.  Nice beach, plenty of places to eat and shop in a lovely family friendly environment.  Here you will find plenty of flash resorts with great kid’s clubs too.

The downside of Sanur is you are fairly isolated, and it takes a while to get anywhere.

Nusa Dua – Where to Stay in Bali with Kids

Nusa Dua is a fantastic location for those who want a holiday full of pampering away from the rest of the world.

Nusa Dua is a gated community and so there are no local communities here and no opportunity to experience the local culture (expect for staged shows).  There are not a lot of things to do in Nusa Dua outside of the resorts.  Although there is a flash shopping mall with a few markets and restaurants.

Nusa Dua is great for people who are looking for a resort holiday.  Nusa Dua has fantastic kids’ clubs, where your kids will be entertained all day and the adults can completely relax.  The beaches here are well looked after by the resorts and the water is calm making it ideal for small children.

Ubud – Where to Stay in Bali with Kids

Around an hour’s drive from the fast-paced city streets of Kuta, lies Ubud. Surrounded by rainforests, temples and rice terraces, this tranquil and spiritual place is filled with arts and crafts, bars and restaurants and more spa, massage and yoga centres than you can imagine in one small town.

Many people choose to split their time between one of the above locations and Ubud.  From Ubud you can visit many of the attractions within central and north Bali.
