He’s looking forward to meeting everyone, and sharing a special festive story. You can also head upstairs to the Hayloft to get creative in the Artrageous workshop. He’ll be ready with stories to share and his elves will have plenty of presents to give.

You’ll be welcomed by an elf who’ll help you make a special decoration to take home, before entering into the wondrous cavern where the jolly fellow will be waiting to meet you. Treasure a magical 5 minutes* with Father Christmas where you can share with him your winter wishes, before receiving a special present from the man himself. Book your slot between 10:30 and 15:00.

Gibside, Gateshead, Tyne & Wear

A Georgian landscape garden forged in an industrial past.

Book a timed slot to meet Father Christmas. He’ll be spreading festive cheer and giving out gifts in his twinkly Grotto complete with real log fire. Father Christmas by Twilight tickets include entry into The Nights before Christmas event. Book for an event that takes place between 18:00 and 20:00.

This year Mrs Claus is leading our celebrations, taking us back to the days of the Victorian tinworks for a candlelit walk to the waterfall. Settle down for a traditional festive story or cosy up in the tea-room with a hot drink and mince pie. You never know, Father Christmas might just pop in to check she’s not having all the fun. Visit between 17:30 and 20:00

Chirk Castle

Chirk Castle offers a real family day out, with giant games in the garden, play areas and den building. The Castle has lot’s of activities and dress up to keep children entertained while they follow the trail too. Here’s what we had to say: “There was also a family room at the top of a tower where the girls could do some colouring, make jigsaws (of knights naturally) and build a castle.  I was incredibly impressed that at every turn there was something else for them to do.  In places like this there is usually only a ‘token’ child activity. Powis Castle and Garden

Each child will receive a Christmas gift as well as a voucher for a Christmas cookie and drink in the restaurant. Book your half an hour slot between 11:00 and 15:30.

Tredegar House

A place shapes by the local community, Tredegar House and its surrounding gardens and parkland stand proudly at the heart of Newport’s heritage.
