Travelodge London Excel | Mini Travellers Review

Share

Last week I was lucky enough to spend a few days attending World Travel Market at the London Excel. For a travel blogger, and a new one at that, this is a dream come true. So many amazing places countries  showcasing their talents for all to see in the enormous venue that is the London Excel, so we stayed close at Travelodge London Excel.

I have come back overwhelmed at the amount of places I want to visit and it is certainly going to take some scheduling, but what a fun job! I packed up my new bag from House of Fraser which I love and set off!

The Excel hosts a multitude of events throughout the year and if you are attending an event there from out of town, the Travelodge London Excel is a great place to stay. When you book you have to make sure you book the right one, as the City airport one is also very very close, but it is literally a 5 minute walk to the Excel.

If you arrive by cab like I did due to the DLR strike, you need to make sure you use the Sat Nav postcode as the actual post code takes you to a bit of wasteland on the other side of the fence.  If it had not been for the strike it would have been a very easy DLR trip, as Royal Albert station is literally a minutes walk away.

The rooms themselves were newly decorated, clean and perfectly functional. The bed was very comfortable indeed. I always forget when staying in a travelodge that I need to pack a hairdryer but luckily my my roommate Sarah was much better organised than me.

I arrived quite late on the Tuesday evening for my two night stay. Check in was quick and efficient and within half an hour I had a small bottle of Prosecco to drink in bed in my nearly matching pyjamas!

We ate breakfast in the hotel both mornings.  For me it was toast and scrambled eggs with unlimited juice and coffee! A good start to some long busy days. A full breakfast, cereals and pastries was also on offer for those that wanted it.

On the Wednesday evening we arrived back late and hungry and ordered wine and pizza and five of us sat around chatting happily in the bar for a couple of hours.

Overall our stay at the Travelodge Excel was really very pleasant and I would definitely look to stay there again next time I’m visiting the Excel.

Nb: we stayed at the Travelodge as guests but all views and opinions are my own.
