Last year in Lanzarote our eldest daughter learnt to swim.  Since that time she has been continuing with her swimming lessons at home and trying to get better at swimming.  She absolutely loves playing in the pool, jumping in and generally messing about. So I did wonder what she was going to wear in the pool when she got tired. I knew she wouldn’t want to wear arm bands, and I thought I’d probably struggle to get her to wear a UV float suit like her younger sisters (as they can’t swim) but then we were asked if we would like to try out the Swim Fin.  At £21.99 the Swim Fin is quite a lot more expensive than a pair of arm bands, but then it does so much more.
The more submerged the fin is, the more support it is giving. The website tells you that “when the child is vertical, doggy paddling through the water, SwimFin will be almost completely submerged, giving maximum support. As the child’s body position becomes more horizontal, SwimFin comes out of the water giving less support. This means the child is swimming more for themselves with less and less assistance.”

It’s also fun, I mean it’s a shark fin. Lily loved it, and it was perfect for putting on her when she started to get tired after 4 hours in the pool (no I’m not kidding!).
I also liked it because it meant Lily could practice her strokes when she had it on. Â It leaves the hands completely free so that she could do breast stroke or doggy paddle in a way they can’t when they have armbands on.
As you can see from the photos above it also doesn’t stop you jumping in, and out, and in and out!
Lily is 4.5 and she used it the most however both of the twins (3.5) used it most days too and it kept them afloat. Â Definitely a win for us.
