Travel Tips: iPad Covers

Share

It’s no secret that we love our iPads here at Mini Travellers.  They are one of my top tips for travelling with toddlers/pre-schoolers and just about anyone of any age, including my husband.

You can download free programmes from the iPlayer, you can usually pay very little for games, and they last a pretty long time, especially if you use a Turbo Charger like we have to top them up if needs be.  I have however become more and more uncomfortable about the girls playing with them, as how many times can they survive a drop form a great height followed quickly by a ‘I didn’t mean too Mummy’.

That’s why I was delighted when My Doodles asked if we wanted to try out their iPad covers.  They come in a variety of different styles, sizes and designs.  You can go for something more discreet that the iPad slides in and out of, or you can go for the completely protect, sit on your lap, pretty difficult to break iPad cover.

They are very cute, they are very light, they have a little pocket to keep your earphones in or a couple of other smaller items and there is a great handle to carry the iPad.  When they are on the girls knee they are apparently very comfortable and the girls love how distinctive they are.  They come in two different sizes and we have both. The see-through window works really well, I had thought it might be difficult to use with the touch screen but it’s very responsive.  The only downside is that if there is no volume control on the app, you have to open them up to turn the volume down and that’s a bit of a faff with the zips and elastic to hold it in place.  That is however a price I am willing to pay for their other qualities.

  1. Do you have a link to the covers you have photographed? I’ve been looking for something like this for ages but can’t find them when googling. Thanks!

  2. Ooooh these are lovely and will be keeping these in the back of my mind for further down the line. For the moment, we mount an iPad just behind the front seats – where the girls can’t reach it (no arguments!) and stick a film on. Works well for the time being, but I am sure we will need to do individual ones when they are a bit older!

  3. These look fantastic! Will have to invest in one of these for O. He has a silicone case but these look so much better as he would have to hold it up to see it! Thanks for linking up with #summerdays xxx
