We recently put the Silver Cross Avia Stroller through its paces at Cornbury Festival and it proved to be a nifty little ride.

When you go away with toddlers, their mode of transport has a large impact on how smoothly things will go. Wrestling a small child as well as a pushchair, can be tricky at the best of times and even more so when you attend a festival.

This is when you need a pushchair that is light and easy to handle. A stroller that is going to make your life easier, rather than being a hindrance.

We’ve tried a few different brands of pushchairs over the years but this was the first time trying out a Silver Cross.

We received the special edition Eton Grey which is a lovely soft textured fabric and gives it that stylish look.

I’m not a fan of reading instruction manuals on the whole, so I was pleased to find that this pushchair practically folds out itself. It was a straight forward and seamless assembly when it came out of the box.  However, it wasn’t so obvious as to how it folded down but once I’d got the hang of that, it was a bonus to find that with some practice, you can do it one handed! This was a major plus point.

The Silver Cross Avia Stroller weighs just 5.5kg and is the lightest stroller that I’ve used. It’s a piece of cake getting it in and out of the boot and is means that it’s easy to carry from one place to another folded up – using the bumper bar as a handle. If it’s a squeeze to get it into your car, then you also have the option of removing the wheels too.

It comes with a five point harness that’s simple to connect with a push button system to release and click in place.

The Silver Cross Avia Stroller handled really well over uneven grass and some steep verges when we were at the festival and this was largely due to the fact that it’s so light and easy to manoeuvre.

The basket is extremely spacious and easy to access too. I’m always trying to stuff too much underneath when out shopping, so roominess is crucial and this one copes pretty well. You can even pop items through the side of the basket too for those times when it’s harder to reach to the back of the stroller.

The hood has UPF50+ protection which is great for days out in the sun and when you want to pull the canopy over them – if they’ll let you!

If they fancy a snooze then it’s fully reclinable (as it can be used from birth) and you have the option to open up the back, so you can see them easily and it provides some much needed ventilation on warmer days.

Overall the Silver Cross Avia Stroller is a fantastic lightweight stroller that is certainly not a lightweight when it comes to usability and robustness. It’s ideal to be used everyday but the fact that is it light, compact and portable makes it perfect for taking on your travels too, wherever that may be.

We’d love you to PIN this post for later…
