1. The North Star
The North Star pod lifts into the sky above the cruise ship, offering a 360-degree view of the ship and its surroundings. Like the Ifly, the North Star is free on port day but must be booked immediately as you board as the free spaces run out quickly.
2. The FlowRider
Whether you are surfing or bodyboarding, The Flowrider is free to participate in, but you need to sign a permission form. Also, children must have an adult sign for them. Do this on day one to save getting to the front of the queue and having to go back to sign a waiver. If you want to learn more and improve your technique, there are private sessions available to book for a fee.
3. The iFly
Learn to skydive in a simulator at sea; with registered instructors, cruisers can master the art of skydiving without ever jumping out of a plane. On many cruises, these are free on port day but must be booked immediately as you board as the free spaces run out quickly. Dont feel the fear have a go its incredible.
4. Rock Climbing
For a great open-air view of the ocean, the climbing wall is a must. There are easier and more difficult climbs, so the little ones from the age of 6 can have a go, too, Like the Flowrider, ensure you sign your permissions form first.
5 . Download The Royal Caribbean App
The Royal Caribbean app is my favourite app of all the cruise apps I have used. Its mostly very quick and you don’t need an internet package to use it. The app enables you to book dining, kids clubs, activities and see whats going on on the ship.
6. Plug Sockets
The cabins have European and US plug sockets. You will find one European plug on one side of the bed, plus 1 on the dressing table and 2 US plug sockets on the dressing table. There are also 2 USB plugs on the dressing table and one on each bedside lamp.
7. Lobster Night In The Main Dining Room
If you have a dining package, you might want to consider fitting in lobster night in the main dining room if you’re a lobster fan. This is usually on the second formal night of the cruise. But if you check with the restaurant staff or look at the in app menus you will be able to find out the exact night. Lobster is free of charge and is delicious.
8. You Cannot Take Irons on Any Cruise Ship
They will confiscate them. There are also no laundries onboard Royal Caribbean ships. However, the ironing service is fantastic and very reasonable!
9. The Seaplex
The bumper cars are so much fun but the queues can be extensive. Get to the Seaplex early for the session and get in line.
10. Speciality Dining Tips For Odyssey Of The Seas
Book any speciality dining as soon as you get on board. If you have booked a dining package, you will have a courtesy booking for the first evening. However, you can change this and book your dining head to any speciality dining venue and make your reservations all in one go.
