Rumsdale Cottage | Family Friendly Cottage in Lanreath Cornwall

Cornwall is one of my most favourite places in the world. When we arrive I am instantly transported back to childhood memories of long summers spent with my grandparents. I took the girls down to Lanreath near Looe for a little break this Easter holiday’s staying in the gorgeous Rumsdale cottage situated at Woodsaws Farm.

Rumsdale Cottage is stunning on arrival I was so excited to see that the perfect little countryside cottage I had envisaged was everything I had expected and more! We were greeted by the family that still live and work on the farm that surrounds it, and it was so nice to feel part of that country lifestyle for a few days. Being woken to the sound of roosters, enjoying the fresh eggs for breakfast and watching the donkeys graze from the windows made us feel miles away from the town life we lead each day – it was a breath of fresh air.

The traditional cottage provides all you need for a lovely self catering family break, the fully equipped kitchen has everything you could think of, even a homemade cake on arrival – such a lovely touch!

Rumsdale is a three bedroom cottage with facilities to sleep 6 plus one travel cot, the pictures really do not do it justice to show just how spacious the accommodation is. 5 us us stayed and it very often took me a good few minutes to locate the girls. When you hear cottage you think small, cramped, cosy; cosy – it was yes. Small and cramped definitely not. The cottages boast a private gated patio area, barbecue area, a utility room with laundry facilities, two bathrooms and one of my favourite features this gorgeous stone fireplace.

With miles and miles of beautiful countryside all around it’s easy to think you are in the middle of nowhere but with the villages of Looe and Polperro just 6 miles away there is lots to get out see and do.

On our first evening after a long day in the car we took a little walk around to stretch our legs and explore.

The girls were thrilled to find the ford at the end of our country lane, they left drenched with wellies full of water but the smiles were well worth it.
