Monday Escapes

Hello and welcome back to Monday Escapes. We know many of you are going to be busy with your family over the Easter school holidays but we hope you can spare a few minutes to join us and we look forward to reading about your travels! Lisa and Sarah are your hosts this week, you will find the linky over on Travel Loving Family.

The past two weeks have been crazy busy. You may have noticed that the last Monday Escapes was hosted from Tuscany where the four of us, along with 8 other family travel bloggers, enjoyed a few fabulous days at a gorgeous Tuscan farmhouse, exploring Florence and Siena.

We are also in Malawi and I hope you can follow our adventure by searching the hashtag #MalawiFamilyTravel or simply following along on our social channels. Here is a little taster.

It’s also been busy over on Cruising with Kids – Claire and Lisa are counting down the days till they dress in their brightest leg warmers to review an 80’s cruise with Royal Caribbean and Sarah is getting ready to cruise not once but twice over the next few weeks! Look out for her review of the brand new Norwegian Bliss and Performing Arts cruise onboard a Celebrity ship where she hopes to meet Alfie Boe.

Phew! I told you it’s been a busy couple of weeks! Without further ado… Monday Escapes

Monday Escapes is all about looking back at wonderful, happy travel memories and sharing them with others. It doesn’t have to be about a trip abroad or even be a written post. If you want to share your favourite snapshots – whether it’s a famous sight, scene, dramatic view or even a favourite family photo, then please feel free to link those up, too. Likewise, posts don’t have to be about holidays or weekends away, they can also include day trips, walks, attractions – any travel experience that you want to share.

The linky is run by Claire (Tin Box Traveller), Sarah (Extraordinary Chaos) Karen (Mini Travellers) and myself (Travel Loving Family).

We are all absolutely delighted to link up with Lonely Planet to offer our number one favourite blog post of the fortnight either a destination guide, or a title from the Lonely Planet Kids range. (See T&C’s below). Just another great reason to link up with Monday Escapes!

What’s in it for you?

The number one thing is you’ll be sharing your fantastic posts with a like-minded community and grabbing some travel inspiration for yourself. As a bonus you have a chance to have your blog post featured on all four of the hosts’ blogs each fortnight, introducing your blog to even more people.

Our favourite posts from last time

Here’s the posts that caught mine and Claire’s eyes last time:

Claire says: This post about Xel-Ha in Mexico was a very welcome blast from the past for me. I visited this natural lagoon and adventure park about 15 years ago. It’s great to see it’s still going strong and Jo’s post from Where Jo Goes has given me an itch to return.

Claire said: I love being introduced to new ways to holiday and Catherine’s post from Cultural Wednesday about her stay in a Landmark Trust property in the middle of Rome sounds wonderful. The history of the place is incredible and thankfully it’s being preserved.

I loved this guide to a long weekend in Montreal by Caity at Pamplemousse Papers. She visited during the city’s 375th birthday celebrations and shares stunning photos of some of the lesser known sights. How pretty is this photo…

I also loved this guide to Lake Garda by Travelling with our Kids. I visited nearby Lake Maggiore in the summer and reading this post made me want to return to the region to explore further afield. Just look at this view from their flight on the way over…

We chose Jo from Where Jo Goes as our favourite this week. Please do get in touch Jo to claim your prize!

So how do you join in this time?

* Link up one post/photo – old or new using the InLinkz tool on Travel Loving Family.
* Please make sure to include the Monday Escapes badge at the bottom of the post, on your site, or a link back to the hosts.
* Posts are anything travel-related, and can include photos, reviews, days out, attractions and walks – at home or abroad.
* Comment on posts by the co-hosts and at least two others. Blog hops only work if you share the comment love. That’s why they’re so great!
* If you tweet any of us your links @minitravellers @sarahjchristie @tinboxtraveller or @travellovinfam, please use #MondayEscapes and we
will be sure to retweet.

Monday Escapes will go live every two weeks, alternating between the hosts and will be open Monday to Wednesday. Every fortnight we will be giving a shout out to some of our favourite posts and photos.

There is also a Monday Escapes Pinterest Board – so if you’d like to start pinning some of your favourite photos, do get in touch.
