Monday Escapes

Welcome Back to Monday Escapes on Monday 17th July.  Some of you may already have kids who have finished for the Summer, some of you may have kids that finish this week or some of you might not have to care about kids summer holidays at all.  This will be the last Monday Escapes now until 4th September to allow us all to enjoy the Summer with our kids!  Let’s make it a good one and we look forward to welcoming you all back in September to hear about your Summer adventures.

We are excitedly getting ready for a weekend at Nozstock a family friendly festival with friends, followed by a Family Holiday in Corsica which I am sooo excited about.

Since the last Monday Escapes I have spent some time in Manchester with my fellow Monday Escapes host Sarah (who is hosting today) taking some pictures and generally catching up on all things blogging, and we also spent a weekend camping in Yorkshire with friends.

Here are just a few of our Instagram photos if you missed them!

On Friday I had such a lovely day out wandering around Manchester with a group of wonderful friends whom I’ve met through blogging. We met up to take photographs of each other – to practice our own photography but also to get in front of the camera ourselves and to get some photos in different places too rather than just photos of the kids. We had a fantastic day out and can’t wait to do it again in September. Thanks @goingonanadventureblog @extraordinary_chaos @letstalkmommy for a fab day! #fbloggers #ootd #wiwt #outfit #outfitoftheday #instafashion #fwis #whatiwore #fashionista #swag #mode #fashiondiaries #todaysoutfit #today #inmymirror #selfie #mystyle #style #mywardrobe #fashion #fashionstyle #myfashionstyle #fashionpost #lookoftheday #mylook #ootdshare #wiw #instastyle #lifecloseup

I also finished writing up my post about Trekking to see the Gorillas this week too and you can find the post here and the video below – we got REALLY close:

Monday Escapes is a place to link up your travel memories and is hosted by Me, Sarah at Extraordinary Chaos (who is hosting today) Lisa at Travel Loving Family and Clare at Tin Box Traveller.

We are also absolutely delighted to link up with Lonely Planet to offer our number one favourite blog post of the fortnight either a destination guide, or a title from the Lonely Planet Kids range.  (See T&C’s below). Just another great reason to link up with Monday Escapes!

Monday Escapes is all about looking back at wonderful, happy travel memories and sharing them with others. It doesn’t have to be about a trip abroad or even be a written post. If you want to share your favourite snapshots – whether it’s a famous sight, scene, dramatic view or even a favourite family photo, then please feel free to link those up, too. Likewise, posts don’t have to be about holidays or weekends away, they can also include day trips, walks, attractions – any travel experience that you want to share.

Claire and Lisa’s favourite posts from the last Monday Escapes are:

Molly’s post about Popeye Village in Malta is packed full of beautiful pictures of her fun visit. Who knew this place existed?! The five-year-old in me is itching to go!

Sima’s wedding anniversary trip to this quirky hotel in Lavenham has made me green with envy. The food, spa and slightly wonky accommodation sounds perfect for a couples’ break

Lisa challenges anyone who says they don’t ‘do’ camping to read Sarah’s review of Canvas and Stars on Hale Farm in Chiddingly, East Sussex. We love the wild flowers, hay bales for seats and all the quirky extras for kids including a dressing up rail!

We are also all feeling completely inspired by Jenn and Jason who are currently living in Bangalore with their 2 and 3 year olds. The family’s recent experience visiting Hampi completely captivated us. Their kids look like they are having so much fun exploring the temples and stroking the local elephants. What a life changing opportunity for them all!  They are also our winner of this weeks Lonely Planet prize. Please do get in touch to claim it.

What’s in it for you?

The number one thing is you’ll be sharing your fantastic posts with a like-minded community and grabbing some travel inspiration for yourself. As a bonus you have a chance to have your blog post featured on all four, yes four of the hosts’ blogs each fortnight, introducing your blog to even more people. How great is that?! Our number one favourite post of the fortnight will also win a Lonely Planet destination guide, or a title from the Lonely Planet Kids range. How great is that?! (*T&C’s – The chosen Lonely Planet book must be in English and can only be sent to bloggers living within Europe).

So how do you join in?

• Link up to one post/photo – old or new.
• Please make sure to include the Monday Escapes badge at the bottom of the post, on your site, or a link back to the hosts.
• Posts are anything travel-related, and can include photos, reviews, days out, attractions and walks – at home or abroad.
• Comment on posts by the co-hosts and at least two others. Blog hops only work if you share the comment love. That’s why they’re so great!
• If you tweet any of us your links @minitravellers @sarahjchristie @tinboxtraveller or @travellovinfam, please use #MondayEscapes and we will be sure to retweet.

Monday Escapes will go live every two weeks, alternating between the hosts and will be open Monday to Wednesday. Every fortnight we will be giving a shout out to some of our favourite posts and photos.

There is also a Monday Escapes Pinterest Board – so if you’d like to start pinning some of your favourite photos, do get in touch.

So do link up by heading over to Extraordinary Chaos now.

Thank you so much! Very chuffed to hear that I’m this week’s winner of the Lonely Planet prize. And I love your Gorilla Trekking video – what an incredible once in a lifetime experience!
