Welcome Back to Monday Escapes on Monday 27th February. It’s been a busy month for my Mini Travellers and we have just had the most fabulous trip to Portugal which I’ll be writing up very soon!
If you didn’t see any of my Instagram photos whilst we were there, here is a little sample!
Not sure we will ever perfect the family selfie! We do try though and this was taken this afternoon on the beach in #cascais. The weather here in #Portugal has been beautiful this half term and we have absolutely loved our time @martinhalfamilyresorts it’s been a really special little trip. #cascaislovers
No filter this Palace in #sintra lived up to all expectations. I never expected the colours to look like this. The girls deemed it a true fairytale Palace and we spent two hours wandering around it deciding which of the Disney princesses would have lived in each room or turret. Wonderful day. Definitely not recommended for tiny tots! So many stairs and steps. I now have exhausted but happy kids! Lovely day trip from @martinhalfamilyresorts #lisbon hotel #Lisboa @visit_lisboa
What a beautiful place to stay in #lisbon or #lisboa as it’s actually called! We have a two bedroomed suite here @martinhalfamilyresorts which feels like true luxury in a capital city! There is a huge kids club, floor to ceiling windows and stunning views. My three just ended up here and I couldn’t resist the photo! @visit_lisboa
I also made my very first video of a day out all buy myself, I usually get my hubby’s help, so here is my video from a day out a local National Trust property Speke Hall!
We are also absolutely delighted to link up with Lonely Planet to offer our number one favourite blog post of the fortnight either a destination guide, or a title from the Lonely Planet Kids range. (See T&C’s below). Just another great reason to link up with Monday Escapes!
Monday Escapes is all about looking back at wonderful, happy travel memories and sharing them with others. It doesn’t have to be about a trip abroad or even be a written post. If you want to share your favourite snapshots – whether it’s a famous sight, scene, dramatic view or even a favourite family photo, then please feel free to link those up, too. Likewise, posts don’t have to be about holidays or weekends away, they can also include day trips, walks, attractions – any travel experience that you want to share.
Claire and Lisa’s favourite posts from the last Monday Escapes are:
2 Travel Dads – Claire loves hearing about the places travel bloggers call home and what they recommend doing and seeing there. Rob has really sold us on a visit to Dungeness in the US.
Claire also loved this post by Dotted Line Travels Claire had a rather disappointing visit to Pompeii last year which was nothing to do with the site – it was the quality of their guide that was the problem. Bryna’s visit to Pompeii looks wonderful in comparison. It’s given Claire an urge to return and see it her way!
Lisa loved this post from Smart Mouse Travels Cristin’s guide to St Louis brought back many great memories of her year studying in Midwest, USA. St Louis was my favourite place to head for the weekend!
Polly’s post from Our Seaside Baby has Lisa very excited for her upcoming trip to Bluestone. She shares her highlights of staying at the resort and also visiting nearby Tenby beach which looks stunning.
and the winner of the Lonely Planet book this time is Claire from Dotted Line Travels please do get in touch to claim your prize!
What’s in it for you?
The number one thing is you’ll be sharing your fantastic posts with a like-minded community and grabbing some travel inspiration for yourself. As a bonus you have a chance to have your blog post and/or hashtagged Instagram posts featured on all four, yes four of the hosts’ blogs each fortnight, introducing your blog to even more people. How great is that?! Our number one favourite post of the fortnight will also win a Lonely Planet destination guide, or a title from the Lonely Planet Kids range. How great is that?! (*T&C’s – The chosen Lonely Planet book must be in English and can only be sent to bloggers living within Europe).
So how do you join in?
