5 Reasons to Visit Suffolk in the Autumn with Kids

Share

I don’t know about you but I love the change of season and really enjoy the change in the type of days out with kids it can bring.  It can however be trickier to decide on what to do if the weather isn’t so nice and whilst you may not think Suffolk in Autumn is the obvious choice, here are 5 reasons why it is, including some great tips from some other fantastic Travel Bloggers.

  • 1. Beaches

It doesn’t have to be sunny to enjoy the beaches in the UK and your kids will love the beaches in Suffolk just as much in the Autumn as in the Summer. It helps if it isn’t raining but as you can see from this beautiful post by Mummy Daddy Me, you can have fun on the beaches of Suffolk, what ever the time of year!  There is a fab video to watch too!

  • 2. Visit Jimmy’s Farm

Whilst Jimmy’s Farm doesn’t open all year round, the Butterfly House is open until the end of October and there are lots of spooky Halloween activities on too.

Tin Box Traveller wrote a great post about a day out at Jimmy’s Farm so pop over and put it on your list!

  • 3. Easton Farm Park

A day out a farm seems to be high up the agenda when visiting Suffolk and now Easton Park has new extended Autumn & Winter opening hours right up to 23rd December 2016.  You can hug a bunny, play on motorised tractors and play in soft play divided into sections for different ages. Cathy from Mummy Travels quite rightly points out that “Someone at the farm has worked out that English summers (and Autumn!) are not to be trusted, and that there needs to be plenty of indoor entertainment.  I’d probably have paid the entry fee for [the soft play] alone, let alone having the animals thrown in.

  • 4. Visit Alderburgh

Alderburgh is a pretty coastal town very popular with Londoners heading out to Suffolk for some R&R. It’s a beautiful mix of old and new and perfect for a wander around whatever the season. Just take a look at some of the wonderful photos in this post by Sorry About the Mess and you’ll have a cottage booked to stay in just so you can visit!

  • 5. Go Ape, Thetford

Now we haven’t been to Go Ape in Thetford but we have been to both Go Ape and Junior Go Ape in Delamere Forest. Regardless of the weather it is great fun. It really can be a great way to spend a wet, blustery Autumn morning with the kids. You just need to find your bravery!
