There is so much going on this Christmas in Liverpool 2023 from the Christmas Markets, to Liverpool ONE festivities, to family events and theatre!

Liverpool Chavasse Park

Liverpool’s main Christmas tree is again at Chavasse Park.

Bar Hutte

Nestled next to the Chavasse Park Christmas Tree. Karaoke booths and benches. Book a spot for an hour and enjoy some live music, raucous karaoke or just a chat.

Christmas karaoke was universally voted our favourite hour of our Christmas day out in Liverpool.

Each booth is for up to eight people, and includes a complimentary welcome Bombardino and Christmas karaoke. Each hütte requires a non-refundable booking fee; £50 and this secures your exclusive use of the hütte for 1 hour, 45 minutes. More options available here.

The Light Before Christmas: The Manger

A magical Christmas light show, The Light Before Christmas: The Manger will illuminate the iconic 99-year-old venue with the help of internationally renowned art team Luxmuralis who will display their immersive light and sound installation for the second year.

The historic architecture will become a backdrop for the sensory experience, which will take guests on a journey that brings the nativity story to life.

The large-scale Son et Lumiere project will see lights and sound filling the majestic building, including stunning Christmas related images that will be projected onto the walls. Illuminations will guide visitors into the building to follow the story, while encouraging both young and old to look up and enjoy the architectural splendour of the building.

Royal Albert Dock Light Trail

This Christmas, Royal Albert Dock Liverpool will be illuminated once again with the return of its popular light trail from Friday 17th November. Taking place across the estate with over 1 million twinkling lights, embark on an enchanting waterfront wander.

Enjoy a selection of characters from Liverpool’s coat of arms alongside nautical installations representing the dock’s rich maritime history, offering a fun and free activity for families during the festive period. Highlights include a giant yellow submarine, a family of dazzling jellyfish as well as Neptune and Poseidon standing tall at the dock’s entrance.

After completing the light trail, visitors can head to one of the dock’s bars or restaurants to warm up with a hot chocolate or mulled wine, with an array of cuisines for those wanting to indulge in a delicious meal.

Luna Cinema St Georges Hall

If you’re looking for a magical Christmas experience in the North-West that will please the whole family, we know just the one. In our humble opinion, you can’t beat a classic Christmas film, and you’ll be spoilt for choice at this magical location.

St George’s Hall, a neoclassical landmark in Liverpool, is pretty impressive. When built, it had the largest barrel-vaulted ceiling and largest piped concert organ in the world, and this winter, will be transformed into a magical festive location for The Luna Cinema. Think cosy seating, lighting that highlights the best of the hall, snow dusted Christmas trees and a huge screen to watch your Christmas film of choice. Find out more about Luna Cinema Liverpool here.

Christmas Markets 2023

Liverpool’s Christmas Market is at St George’s Plateau against the backdrop of the magnificent St George’s Hall. From Saturday November 18th until Sunday 24 December 2023.

Market stalls, karaoke booth, drinks, food, kids rides and a huge big wheel!

St George’s Hall Charitable Trust and The Salvation Army’s Strawberry Field

The Salvation Army’s Strawberry Field will bring its annual Christmas carol concert to St George’s Hall this November in partnership with one of Liverpool’s most esteemed heritage trusts, St George’s Hall Charitable Trust.

‘Celebrating Christmas’ will take place on November 26 at 4pm, and will feature music from the Liverpool Walton Salvation Army Band. It will also include music from singer Asa Murphy and Britain’s Got Talent semi finalist Charlie Green, as well as Liverpool Lighthouse choir, while the evening will be compered by BBC Radio Merseyside’s Paul Beesley. The concert will also feature a host of special guests and readings that celebrate the true meaning of Christmas.

All proceeds from the concert will go towards both charities’ projects. It will help to keep the ‘gates open for good’ at Strawberry Field, supporting trainees on the Steps at Strawberry Field programmes and helping the wider community. Providing employment skills, work experience, and opportunities to volunteer, Steps at Strawberry Field empowers people across Liverpool who have learning difficulties or other barriers to employment and helps them to achieve their goals.
