It is Beatrix Potter Fortnight at Speke Hall from 26 July – 7 August 2016 and they are celebrating the fact that one of the National Trust’s most beloved figures would have been 150 this year! Her work and her characters have become national treasures, inspiring children everywhere and sparking imagination in the British countryside.

So during Beatrix Potter fortnight at Speke Hall we went along to try out the family friendly trails through the house and grounds. We had a lovely lunch in the Cafe. We spotted Peter’s Rabbit’s belongings in Mr McGregor’s kitchen garden, found the Bad Mice in the big old Hall and enjoyed Jemima Puddle Duck’s adventure trail.
The lovely volunteers at Speke Hall even tried to encourage the kids to get interested in the art work on the walls in the hall!
However even if you read this post when Beatrix Potter fortnight is finished there are still lots of reasons to visit Speke Hall come rain or shine!

There is also an incredible ‘Summer of Sport’ at ‘Sporty Speke’ Hall that culminates with the amazing ‘GAME ON’ sports weekend on the 12-14th August! We will be heading over to that – will you??
