Lanzarote
With temperatures ranging from 21 to 27 degrees, Lanzarote is one of our favourite destinations for a last minute autumn family holiday. Only a short flight away, the Canary island is ideal for a family retreat and offers many activities for the whole family. From visiting historical sites, the Timanfaya National Park, Cueva de los Verdes and the Cactus Garden, to water sports and boat trips, Lanzarote is truly a fantastic destination for a holiday with the kids.
Hotel Vik San Antonio in Lanzarote is an excellent accommodation choice for a family retreat. Located on the seafront at Playa de los Pocillos in popular Puerto del Carmen, the 4 star hotel has been awarded the blue flag for cleanness for the fourth year in a row. With three swimming pools, including a childrens pool, a wellness spa and kids club, Vik Hotel is ideal for a family retreat.

Another excellent choice for an autumn family holiday on the Canary Islands is Gran Canaria. Best known for its dramatic scenery with black lava and white beaches, it is a superb location for a last minute autumn family holiday. With warm temperatures of around 24 degrees, it has been a British favourite for over a century. Indulge in the traditional cuisine or have a fun day at one of its many adventure parks. Visit historic sites or just admire the crystalline waters of the Atlantic Ocean from its fine white beaches.
Not sure about where to stay in Gran Canaria? The 4 star Gloria Palace San Agustin Thalasso & Hotel has excellent facilities. These include a pool area, rooftop restaurant and Thalassotherapy Spa Centre. There’s also a kids club and plenty of activities for the little ones. It is the perfect place for a relaxing holiday.
Corfu
Corfu, the birthplace of the Duke of Edinburgh, is the second biggest island in the Greek archipelago. It makes for a great autumn family holiday. With warm weather in September and October, you can expect lows of 17 degrees Celsius and highs of 28. Arguably the most beautiful of the Greek islands, we believe this is a must see destination. The Ionian island has a rich cultural heritage and is speckled with lovely villages and plenty of sightseeing spots.
Enjoy your last minute autumn family holiday at the 5 star Kontokali Bay Resort & Spa. The luxurious hotel has excellent amenities, including four swimming pools. For the kids there’s a Children’s Village. Adventure lovers will enjoy the watersports, land sports and nearby 18-hole Golf Course.
If you want luxury but at a slightly more affordable price then there is the Marbella Hotel. Contrary to its name, this hotel is actually based in Greece. It features two swimming pools, a wonderful spa area and a private beach. When dining there are five Mediterranean and traditional Greek style restaurants to choose from. The hotel has excellent children’s facilities, such as a children’s club, a dance studio, music room, an ‘enchanted forest’ and other educational facilities.
Madeira
Another favourite for a last minute autumn family holiday is Madeira, Portugal. As it is close to the North African shore, the weather remains warm throughout autumn months, with daily averages of 23 degrees. Madeira is perfect for an active family holiday, with activities including mountain biking, canyoning, paragliding and trekking. Take the kids on a trip to the botanical gardens and admire the biodiversity Madeira has to offer. Only a 3 hour flight away, we can’t think of any reason not to choose this superb destination for your family holiday!

I think these hotels are very much expensive. But it’s features and the entertainments will be worth of its price. I am a new traveler. Should I visit these expensive places in the begining of my journey?
