Solar Buddies have been designed as roll-on, mess free and reusable sunscreen applicators.  Top up with a sunscreen of your choice. Child Friendly and invented by two South Wales mothers who were worried about how their children would be able to independently apply sunscreen in school to protect themselves from the sun, so they decided to do something about it.

I was sent these Solar Buddies applicators to try out and you know what they are brilliant!  For £8.99 I think these are worth their weight in gold. Simply fill them with your favourite sun cream and you have a really very easy to use sun cream applicator that even a 3 year old can use easily and smile whilst doing it!
Tip: We have found this works better with a slightly thicker sun cream as it became a little runny with a thinner one, but the beauty of this is you can easily try different ones out to see which works best for you and your child.
As my kids school now require them to take sun cream in when it’s a sunny day, this ensures they can put it on themselves (really easily) and stay sun safe.

There is a lovely video on YouTube that shows you how to use the Solar Buddies, but it really is very very easy!

What a fantastic idea!!
That’s such a clever idea – I tried a rollerball suntan lotion on my daughter for the first time yesterday and she actually giggled which is a sun protection first! Great for letting little ones apply themselves too.
Hi Karen, what a great idea. Teachers and carers often have enough to do without having to plaster sunscreen on children. I certainly would invest in one if I had a little one.

These look like a really good idea! My eldest is 5 in may so I’m hoping something like this might work for him over the summer! X
What a great idea, and something I imagine my little boy would love to use himself.
What a genuinely brilliant idea. There were a few scorcher days of 32 degrees all falling on school days last year when they do really need to be able to apply themselves. Great for holidays too of course.

This is such a great way to get Children to wear suncream, my girls are independent and love doing things themselves, but it can easily go wrong straight from the bottle
These look like a fantastic idea.
I’ve never seen these before – what a brilliant idea!
What a nifty gadget, and a great idea! I’m going to get one of these.
Sunscreen is really important. It’s an everyday and travel must-have.
