Having spent the morning at Gwynfryn Farm where we were staying, we drove down to Abersoch Beach for the afternoon. None of us had been for years and as we drove through the village my husband was noting what shops/restaurants had changed and how even more upmarket it looked.

We drove through Abersoch and missed the turn down to the back first time round, only finding the sign for the golf club on our way back through. We found a couple of spaces in the  golf club car park (you can pay with card/phone if you forget cash) and it was a very short walk to the beach,  past toilets and the shop selling ice cream and a decent coffee.  ‘Good beach’ requirements for me.
One side is dog free  and the other side is a free for all.  We actually saw someone enforcing the rule in a very friendly way which mean with really little ones like ours you don’t need to keep watching out for big dogs.

This was our first day of the beautiful (and unusual weather) for the first week of September, and we misread it completely, turning up to the beach with wellies on, no costumes, no towels or even shorts.   Obviously within minutes of arriving they were in the sea, drenched and then running around in wet knickers, with absolutely no way of getting them dry apart from Daddy’s big jumper! They had a ball.

We had good fun guessing the prices of the beautiful beach huts (selling for £90k currently if you have a few spare pounds) eating icecreams and drinking good coffee. A fantastic start to a wonderful week visiting Portmeirion, Porth Ceriad, Black Rock Sands, Morfar Nefyn, Harlech Castle, Criccieth and a family favourite Abergele.
